We were born into this world with nothing, and everything we have and earn during our lifetime is a gift from God. As a steward of your God-given Time, Talent and Treasure, you are invited to share your gifts in ministry. See below all the ministries and organizations to join at SVDP!

The Rule of St. Benedict advises us, "Anyone can read Scripture in public; only a believer can proclaim them".
It is an ancient teaching in the Church that Christ is truly present in His Word: The Word that is spoken, heard and acted upon. The role of the Lector is to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ, making God present to the gathered community.
Aspiring Lectors must be Catholic, at least 16 years old, have received the Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, Reconciliation, Confirmation and in good standing with the Church. A willingness to study the Scriptures and time to pray with the readings before each liturgical assignment are necessary commitments for a Lector. The degree and kind of relationship that Lectors establish with the Word is the wellspring of their service.

Hospitality is the cornerstone of stewardship, because it opens the door to a person’s heart and allows them to receive joy, grace and love. Our Hospitality & Welcome Greeters tend the Welcome & Information desk in the Gathering space 30 minutes before and after each weekend Mass to welcome all parishioners, new and current, and answer questions about our parish, ministries, and programs.
